Meet Connie Guerin, MA, MS, co-op member and highlighted eco-system partner of the month. Connie is an integrative psychotherapist and wellness coach in Doylestown. She has been practicing in the field for over 20 years. In honor of February and heart health month, Connie will be offering a presentation on February 27 at the Market entitled, “Love Your Heart! -- Effects of Food, Psychology, and Community on Heart Health.”
Included in her presentation is her recommendation for a dose of quality chocolate from time to time for a happy and healthy heart!
How wonderful that the Market is highlighting Lisa Leleu as one of our producers this month and her LUV Superfoods chocolates are discounted 20% throughout February.
In her work as a psychotherapist, Connie uses an integrative model to help clients resolve issues and feelings that are getting in the way of experiencing a full life. As a wellness coach, she offers tools and processes for those who are interested in learning how to live a healthier lifestyle while increasing their feelings of wellbeing. “I love working with clients who want to get to the root of their issue whether it’s emotional or an intention they’re trying to create in their lives.” What Connie uniquely brings to her practice is a broad range of information, techniques, and research as well as her personal experience with healing herself from breast cancer using only natural methods.
Given her extensive training including a master’s degree in Comparative Psychology, Connie pulls from a wealth of education and training in her role as a therapist as well as in her role as a presenter and workshop leader. “I’m inspired by the wisdom traditions and psychologies that I learned about from cultures around the world, including yoga psychology and eastern philosophies.” Connie values working with others who are excited to try new things to heal and create their future.
Having been a probation office, college professor, and a corporate trainer, Connie is most enthusiastic about the work she’s doing now with therapy and wellness coaching.
She concluded the interview with a final reflection: “One of the most inspirational experiences I ever had was healing myself from breast cancer using only natural methods. I cleansed and organized so many other areas of my life and I never felt better. I use a lot of what I learned from that process to help with stress reduction and nutrition and practices for self-fulfillment. A lot of that is integral to helping people psychologically.”
