“Pet Nutrition” with Dr. Laura Weiss

What should I feed my pet? Raw food or kibble? Strictly commercial food, home-cooked whole foods, or a vegan diet? There is a dizzying array of choices and processing the information available online or in the pet food store can be confusing and overwhelming. Deciding what to feed your pet is the most important decision most of us will make to positively affect our pet’s health. As part of the FED Talk series, Dr. Laura Weis, owner of Doylestown Veterinary Hospital & Holistic Pet Care, will talk about the pet food industry, the importance of balanced nutrition, and address common myths as well as offer simple steps everyone can take to easily improve their pet’s diet.

Cost:

  • $5 for Co-Op Members/Owners
  • $8 for non-members

Special Package: pay for all sessions up front

  • $15 for Co-op Member/Owners
  • $20 for non-members 
    • Anyone who attends all three session will receive a $10 gift card to the Doylestown Food Market. If you don't have a pet, you can send a friend to the "Pet Nutrition" talk, attend the other two talks, and still receive a $10 gift card.

Mental Illness Myths and Food Addiction"  with Connie Guerin, MA, MS

Connie will discuss the growing mental health epidemic and it's connection to food addiction. We'll learn about the relationship between food and emotional states, the effect that the food industry has on our mental health and how eating clean, natural food creates a sound mind and body.  Studies show a balanced approach to mental health provides a dramatic increase in energy, better mood, decreased stress and an easing of physical symptoms. Connie will discuss case studies, revealing how clients took their well-being into their own hands and the impact it had on their lives.
