What a testimonial…not only to DFM, but to living a healthy lifestyle that incorporates clean food, fresh air and community. When is the last time a big supermarket inspired you to write a letter like this? Thanks, Pam.
Everything the body needs at Doylestown Food Market
Thank you for the July 31 article on the Doylestown Food Market. I bought my co-op share way before there was an actual store that I could shop in. I believed in the mission, which was to create a place for all members of the community to buy healthy foods that are locally sourced as often as possible.
When I tell people about our wonderful Doylestown Food Market, I often say, “It has all the things your body needs and none of the things it doesn’t.” No aisles and aisles of snacks, sodas and cereals — just a small footprint teeming with amazing choices. My favorites at the moment are the yogurts, cheeses and summer fruits from local farms.
As for parking, look for a “15-minute” free space on State Street. The Doylestown Food Market is small, so it won’t take long to find what you need. Or find a spot in front of borough hall. (There are nearly always spaces along that stretch of Court Street.
The Doylestown Market staff is always willing to carry your bags to the car if you need help. I sometimes even walk to the store and carry my purchases a mile home, just for the fresh air and exercise and the chance to bump into neighbors on my way.
Check out the Doylestown Food Market. By the way, it’s on State Street catty-corner from the Doylestown Inn. Our market is a gem.
